In my most recent blog post, I wrote about the NEC Advantage conference that we had the privilege of attending in May of this year. I made reference in that blog that I would have to write several additional blogs because of the amount of information that NEC presented all of the Associates with. This is the second in a series of blogs I plan to write that will give you a better understanding of the products and services that NEC has to offer our customers.
SMART Enterprise Solutions was a subject that I briefly mentioned when describing some of the product offerings that were unveiled in the NEC Advantage conference this past April.
It’s no secret that our market is moving at a record pace and because of this fact, it has become increasingly difficult for most companies to keep up with the technology challenges. One company that continues to stay out in front and excel in the Smart Enterprise market is NEC.
The good news is that even though most of the solutions are somewhat geared toward Enterprise markets, the SMB market can also benefit from many of the solutions reviewed in this blog.
Smart Enterprise can basically be broken down into the following categories: Smart DC, Biometric & IoT (Internet of Things) Smart Workplace, HA UC Smart Business Continuity, Security & Data Protection and Smart UC Solutions.
First of all, I’d like to point out why this Smart Enterprise Transformation is taking place:
- 90% of the digital data in the world has been created in the last 2 years.
- 500,000 + Worldwide Data Centers are creating 1 PB of Data every 15 seconds.
- Worldwide volume of data is expected to grow by 50% Each year.
- Total Data generated on the planet 8ZB in 2012, 8ZB in 2015 and 44 ZB in 2020.
Bottom line is that because of the rapid growth and expansion of digitization, NEC is providing the solutions for both SMB and Enterprise customers to be able to keep up with the supply and demand that their customers have demanded and have come to expect. We have gone from millions of devices in the early 2000’s that needed to be managed, to billions that we have today and it’s estimated that by 2020, we will be looking at trillions of devices that will need to be managed.
Cloud and virtualization is where NEC is moving. Flexible workflow, smart end points are coming, SDN/UC integration and Biometrics are rapidly becoming available.
So again, as usually happens, I am going to lose my readership if I don’t wrap this up, so I’ll make this “hard landing” as soft and pleasant as possible. As with most of the blogs I write, one of my main objectives is to get as many of you as possible, excited enough about some of these product offerings, to make you want to find out more information. One of the best ways is to allow Mercury Communications, NEC and others, the opportunity to assist you and to contact our office at 512-467-7227 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Let our office know what industry you are in and allow us to align you with one of our experts in your field so we can assist you with making the best decisions and recommendations for your organization.
