As 2015 winds down and we look forward to another year, I’d like to share some of Mercury’s accomplishments during this past year, some of what NEC has introduced for our customers and look at some of the offerings we can expect in 2016.
Mercury Communications had another banner year, with sales figures surpassing last year by over 50%. We can attribute this to several factors, none that are to be taken lightly: great sales staff, industry leading products and technology and in my opinion, the best customer service of any interconnect in Central Texas. Mercury received top honors from NEC, as of last quarter had surpassed NEC’s quota by over 150% and was one of only 10 companies throughout the nation to be chosen to participate in NEC’s Univerge Blue hosted program. When a company has been fortunate to have great people that love their job, are dedicated and loyal and strongly believe in what they do, the company can’t help but be successful.
Mercury installed a new PBX in one of the oldest and largest hotels this past year in Austin, Mercury is in the process of installing the NEC 3C software based system in one of the largest non-profit facilities in Austin, and Mercury is poised for another great year in 2016. Customers continue to rave about our customer service and our overall attention to detail, training and support after the systems have been installed.
NEC also had a banner year and they continue to lead the industry in SMB and Enterprise sales. NEC is # 1 in global enterprise communications and they continue to be a leading technology integrator, providing solutions that improve the way people work and communicate every single day. During this past year, NEC Corporations president, Nobuhiro Endo introduced the “Group Vision 2017” in which he committed NEC to becoming a leading global company through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which looks into the future in advanced areas of data science and artificial intelligence (AI).
Using ICT to its fullest, NEC is organically combining individual infrastructures and creating new value together with customers in a variety of fields including power and energy, transportation, finance and health care services. These efforts are aimed at contributing to the realization of a society where safe and secure services are provided to people through the most efficient and equal way possible. I don’t have to remind any of us on the U.S., that because of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and our own Homeland, that our national safety and security is now the number one concern for all Americans.
Seven themes that NEC has been focusing on and that they will continue with for 2016 are the following:
- A “Sustainable Earth”
- “Safer Cities and Public Services”
- Distributing as safe and efficient “Lifeline Infrastructure”
- “Industry Eco-System”
- “Work Style”
- “Quality of Life”
